Carrie
Disappointed, really. See the whole story is really well developed, the situation in which Carrie is stuck is clear, the supporting characters believable, 'updating' the story to modern times well made and Julianne Moore does an amazing job as mentally unstable, hyper-religious mother.
BUT, big but: Cloe Grace Moretz.
I have no idea if it was her input or one from the director but she overdoes mimic and gesticulation so much each scene with her using telekinesis or having "INTENSE FEELZ" drift into complete and utter ridiculousness. The worst part? It pulls Julianne Moore down as well. When both were in a scene it was hard to take either serious...
Also we see a completely different Carrie, so far - in the book and both older films - she is shocked from her powers, naive and unable to control it in different situations.
THIS Carrie through uses and controls her powers to her liking, she does neither hesitate to nearly strangle her own mother to make her shut up nor does she only act out of grief only in the 'highlight' scenes in the film. No ladies and gents, what we see here is revenge brought down by a girl that very well knows what she is capable of.
I had hoped for more, sad to say.
